HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Of all my Florida hikes, this is one of my favorites.
We went on a Sunday (June) around 4:30pm and got back in the car around 7:45pm. I think it had rained out here a few days prior.

There is an unmarked gate that you have to open yourself and close behind the car. Opens up to a parking area, and when we arrived it looked like it was pretty grown in. We were the only ones there! We followed the trail on AllTrails App, and I would recommend having that up as you hike here. There's white markers on the trees however, once you reach the cypress dome the marker looks very washed and some of the lichen mimicks the paint so it gets a little confusing.
We took the bonus trail down to the actual Taylor Creek itself and ended up getting off trail. We made it to the creek bed, it was dried up at the time. Very very pretty. Getting back to the trail was a little rough, thankfully we have a good sense of direction and Google maps at least told us which way we were facing lol. Lots of cypress knees! Would recommend a hiking stick/pole as the terrarium out there was uneven.
Lots of boar activity, the ground was torn up and we heard one digging around a distance away from us but no other wild life was observed. Would take pig-precaution just in case.
You hike through many different environments, so youre not just stuck looking at the same stuff. It was not very wet for us however it was easy to tell that this probably gets very wet after it rains. Once you're out in it, you can't hear the car sounds and it's very secluded.
No bathrooms, and I don't believe I saw trash cans. There was a picnic table about half way, near the creek trail. Wear long pants and socks, and bring a stick with you
Pack in, pack out please! This place has low foot traffic and we did not see any trash so let's please keep it this way.
My only concerns for this trail were that some of the markers needed to be repainted, and some of the trail needs a good wacking as it was overgrown.
Would not recommend for kids unless they're true troopers. Biking would be difficult for some parts

I love the hiking area. Blazes are often enough you don't feel lost and the trail is not beaten down, making it fun to traverse. Wear boots if you go the day after it rains!

This particular entrance to Taylor Creek is hard to find it's unmarked from the road there is a large fence that you have to open the gate but you are allowed to open and access this property sunrise to sunset I would not suggest it for young children or mountain biking a zit can be fairly rough terrain flat but lots of pigs and grass

Great hiking spot - feels secluded once you get in a little ways and can't hear road noises anymore.
